The Funny Farm University is a bi-monthly class in stand-up comedy for brand new to relatively new comedians.
If you ever thought you were funny, you are absolutely correct! Everyone is funny, it is just a matter of helping you find your funny! This introductory comedy workshop explains exactly what we mean: being "funny" is not a special ability of gifted people, it's a skill that can be taught to anyone.
How Long Is The Course
The FFU is a five week course taught at The Funny Farm Comedy Club allowing you to get some stage time before being seen by a live, paying audience. The FFU is the only comedy class in Atlanta where you actually learn to learn to perform stand-up on a real stage... not to mention at one of the top comedy clubs in the country!
When Are The Classes?
These classes are every other month and are every Monday evening from 7-10 pm at The Funny Farm Comedy Club. The fifth week you will graduate at The Funny Farm in front of your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc and show them what makes you, you!

Comedy 101: Introduction to Stand-Up
In order to help you find your funny, The Funny Farm Comedy Club proudly presents The Funny Farm University. The FFU is a great way to get started in comedy or learn how to become more comfortable with public speaking. Comedy 101: Introduction to Stand-Up will help you learn the basics of writing a joke, coming up with material, how to deliver, help find what makes you work on stage (which is you), and a basic understanding of what it means to do stand-up comedy.
PLEASE NOTE: Nobody can teach you how to be a comedian. The FFU will teach you the basics of coming up with material, writing it into a joke form, ways to deliver the joke, all while helping you find what makes you work on stage (which is you)... and then you learn stand-up comedy by always writing and performing.
If you, or someone you know, have always wanted to try stand-up and/or improv comedy, get more stage confidence, be a better public speaker, or just do something fun and different, then The FFU is for you.
Who Teaches The Classes?
Theses classes are taught Kenney Johnson (aka Big Kenny) who is a seasoned comedian and improv performer. Big Kenney has been doing comedy and improv for over 10 years each and currently headlines clubs and colleges all over the country while also entertaining our troops all over the world. He is a regular at The Funny Farm so you might have seen him performing on our stage as a comedian or as part of Black Top Circus... the only all African-American improv troupe in the country.
What is the investment?
The FFU is only $300 and comes with a work book and comedy CD of an interview of Johnny Carson discussing comedy... this CD is like a Masters class in comedy and well worth listening to several times.
Watch and Learn!
As an added benefit to The FFU, you and a friend can come watch comedy shows for FREE at The Funny Farm on a Thursday or Sunday. Watching the industries best comedians perform live helps you learn this beautiful art form by understanding how they work a crowd while deliverying their material. This "watch and learn" offer is good for 12 months AFTER your graduation in order to help you keep growing and as a way to say Thank You for letting us get you started in stand-up comedy!
